Egypt Hosts International Webinar on Building Effective and Adaptive National Evaluation Systems
Global Experts Gather to Advance Evidence-Based Policy and Evaluation Systems
The Center for Economic, Financial and Investment Studies at the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rustom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, in collaboration with the Independent Development Evaluation (AfDB-IDEV), the African Twende Mbele Network, and the International Evaluation Academy (IEAc), is pleased to invite participants to a virtual interactive webinar titled: “Building Effective and Adaptive National Evaluation Systems: Best Practices and Insights”
This online panel discussion brings together policymakers, evaluation practitioners, and technical partners from Africa and beyond to explore a key governance question: how countries can build strong and adaptive national evaluation systems that function effectively across diverse and evolving contexts.
The webinar will highlight comparative experiences from four countries—Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, and Colombia—alongside insights from leading international partners, including IDEV, Twende Mbele, the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), and the Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Francophone Africa (CLEAR FA).
Discussions will focus on how national evaluation systems can generate timely, relevant, and policy-oriented evidence that supports learning, decision-making, and accountability. The session will also examine how these systems can adapt to produce rapid evidence in both stable environments and in times of crisis, political transitions, and uncertainty.
By bringing together experts from different regions and institutional backgrounds, the webinar aims to share practical lessons on strengthening, governing, and sustaining national evaluation ecosystems.
