The Prime Minister meets the Italian ambassador to Egypt
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met yesterday evening, Ambassador “Michele Quaroni”, the Italian ambassador to Egypt،The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Italy in various fields, expressing his happiness with the momentum and positive developments that the relations between the two countries witnessed in recent months, especially in light of the visit paid by Mr. / “Antonio Taiani”, Deputy The Italian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation visited Egypt last March, heading a delegation that included government officials and about 30 representatives of private sector companies, banks, financing institutions and regional organizations.
For his part, the Italian ambassador affirmed that the visit of the delegation of Italian companies to Egypt last March contributed to introducing Italian companies to the various investment opportunities that Egypt possesses.
Ambassador Nader Saad, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the Italian ambassador mentioned during the interview that one of the largest Italian companies working in the agricultural field has a plan to invest in Egypt. The first phase of its investment plan includes the cultivation of about 10,000 acres of strategic crops that Egypt needs, thus contributing to bridging the import gap and achieving food security.
The Italian ambassador stated that a delegation from the company intends to visit Egypt in the coming period, to agree on the details of the company’s investments, and to choose the location of the lands it intends to cultivate.
The official spokesman for the Council of Ministers added that Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed the Egyptian government’s welcome to Italian investments in the field of agriculture, stressing that it comes at a very important time, in light of the strategy of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to increase the agricultural area to meet the requirements of achieving food security for the Egyptian people. .
The Prime Minister also expressed his willingness to meet with officials of the Italian company during their upcoming visit to Egypt, to discuss the details of the proposed investments, and to speed up the agreement on the stages of implementation.
