Open Dialogue on Capacity Building Building and Climate Action

Today Tuesday, 1 August 2023 was hold an open dialogue on climate change and building capacity with a number of college students in cooperation with the research station of the Agricultural Research Center (Sars Al-Layan) in Monofia Governorate.

That coordination was made with the professor, head of the agricultural research station, Dr. Muammar Gad
During the dialogue, the issue of climate change was reviewed in terms of the historical development from the Earth Conference 1972 to the COP27 conference.

It was linked to desertification and biodiversity.

And how to confront climate change and review climate co-benefits and their relationship to climate finance and the Loss and Damage Fund.

The Great Green Wall in Africa and its role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions were also introduced.

How can capacity building of individuals raise awareness of the issue of climate action and environmental sustainability.

Also, talking about the environmental footprint, carbon footprint, and water footprint were defined, and how we can make the best use of natural resources.

The relationship of all of the above with the extreme degree of temperature that struck the different continents of the world from the first of July 2023 to the 23rd of July 2023, and how can it be considered an alarm, whose bells rang with the end of the era of global warming and the beginning of the era of global boiling, as indicated by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the last meeting the previous Thursday July 27, 2023.
