Ecomondo 2026 Expands Global Reach as Ecological Transition Ecosystem Evolves

Global Sustainability Leaders Head to Rimini for Ecomondo 2026

Rimini, Italy – June 8, 2026

The 29th edition of Ecomondo, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), is set to take place from November 3 to 6 at the Rimini Expo Centre, with a stronger global outlook, expanded international participation, and a more diversified ecosystem supporting the ecological transition.

Positioned as a leading international platform for the green, blue, and circular economy, Ecomondo 2026 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to address the accelerating environmental and industrial transformations shaping global markets. The event continues to serve as a strategic hub for fostering partnerships, advancing dialogue, and unlocking new business opportunities across sustainability sectors.

Accelerating International Expansion

This year’s edition underscores Ecomondo’s growing international footprint, with a targeted effort to attract a broader base of global buyers, institutional delegations, and industry associations. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE).

A multi-country roadshow spanning Spain, Morocco, Germany, Hungary, and Canada is supporting this expansion, strengthening commercial and institutional ties while widening Ecomondo’s global network. The event’s international presence is further reinforced through platforms such as Ecomondo Mexico, serving Latin American markets, and Ecomondo China, which has evolved into a forum hosted in Shanghai. Additionally, the Green Med Expo & Symposium in Naples contributes to the broader sustainability ecosystem.

With the involvement of major institutional partners, including the European Commission, OECD, and FAO, Ecomondo’s 2026 conference programme will feature an expanded number of summits, forums, and conventions conducted in English, enhancing accessibility for global stakeholders.

Ecomondo 2026

Focus on Policy, Innovation, and Key Transition Sectors

Ecomondo 2026 will spotlight critical regulatory frameworks shaping the ecological transition, including the Circular Economy Act, Bioeconomy Strategy, Biotech Act II, the Pact for the Mediterranean, the RESourceEU Action Plan, and the Critical Raw Materials Act. Discussions will also address new regulations on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

Key thematic areas include the bioeconomy and bioenergy sectors—central pillars for low-emission, circular production systems—as well as healthy and circular cities, artificial intelligence applications, and digital technologies supporting sustainability transitions.

The event will also host the “States General of the Green Economy” during its first two days, organized by the Foundation for Sustainable Development in collaboration with Italy’s Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, with one plenary session conducted entirely in English.

New Exhibition Layout and Sector Expansion

One of the أبرز highlights of this edition is the introduction of a dedicated exhibition hall for the textile supply chain, reflecting the sector’s growing importance amid new European sustainability regulations.

The Waste as a Resource sector will be expanded, while the Water Cycle & Blue Economy area will be reorganized into specialized districts focusing on wastewater recovery, reuse technologies, and advanced solutions for smart water management systems.

Additional confirmed sectors include site and soil restoration, environmental monitoring, bioenergy and agriculture, circular and regenerative bioeconomy, as well as dedicated districts for circular cities, paper, and innovation. The Innovation District will continue to support start-ups, scale-ups, and emerging sustainable technologies.

A Cross-Sector Platform for the Future

As global efforts to accelerate the ecological transition intensify, Ecomondo continues to evolve into a comprehensive, cross-sector platform that bridges policy, innovation, and industry. Its expanding network of international stakeholders and thematic communities reinforces its role as a key driver of sustainable development and green economic transformation worldwide.
