DAAD Scholarship Opportunities for Study in Germany within Egypt’s First Master’s Program in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)
This year marks the launch of Egypt’s first interdisciplinary master’s program in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at Ain Shams University, in strategic partnership with Mansoura University and TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
This innovative academic program aligns with the growing national and global focus on developing specialized human capital to address complex environmental and economic water challenges.
Why Is the IWRM Master’s Program Important?
The IWRM Master’s Program is designed to prepare a new generation of professionals equipped to tackle water-related issues across disciplines including engineering, environmental sciences, management, and economics.
It offers a unique educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, through close collaboration with industrial and academic partners in both Egypt and Germany.
DAAD Scholarships: Your Gateway to Germany
As part of the iWater Academic Exchange Program, fully funded DAAD scholarships are available to selected students of the IWRM Master’s Program, enabling them to spend one academic semester in Germany. The scholarship covers:
• Full tuition fees

• Hands-on training opportunities at leading research institutions and private-sector companies in Germany
Strategic Partnerships to Bridge Academia and Industry
The iWater Project boasts an extensive network of engineering and academic partnerships with local and international institutions that support the teaching and training of IWRM master’s students.
This includes structured internships that equip students with practical skills tailored to labor market demands—enhancing their employability within those very institutions after graduation.
Key institutional partners include:
