The new certification program seeks to equip professionals with the skills needed in sustainability, climate governance, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) verification and assurance, reflecting growing global demand for qualified experts in these fields.

The launch took place during an official press conference organized by the Volunteer Team Foundation for Humanitarian Action (VTFHA), as part of the accredited side events of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Showcasing Egyptian and Arab Expertise

In her remarks, Dr. Metwally highlighted the Egyptian and Arab experience in developing professional cadres specialized in sustainability and ESG reporting. She emphasized the importance of building regional expertise capable of supporting both public and private sectors in meeting international climate and sustainability standards.

Civil Society Driving Climate Action

Alongside the certification initiative, VTFHA presented a series of initiatives focused on climate justice and youth empowerment, reinforcing the growing role of civil society in global climate governance.

The foundation’s participation aligns with broader international efforts to involve non-governmental actors in implementing the Paris Agreement and advancing inclusive climate solutions. Through its programs, VTFHA aims to support vulnerable communities and expand public engagement in environmental and sustainable development issues.

One of the أبرز initiatives introduced was “Green Equity Now,” which focuses on ensuring a more equitable distribution of climate resources, particularly for developing countries and communities most affected by climate change.

Linking Humanitarian Action with Sustainability

VTFHA also highlighted its efforts to integrate sustainability principles into humanitarian work, including initiatives supporting coastal communities, promoting the blue circular economy, and delivering environmental training programs for youth.

The organization further contributed insights to preparations for the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, stressing the need to strengthen support for coastal regions facing sea-level rise, pollution, and biodiversity loss, while calling for increased local climate adaptation financing.

Expanding Global Partnerships

The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with governments, international institutions, and NGOs to advance the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13 on climate action and Goal 17 on partnerships.

These efforts underscore the critical role of volunteer-driven initiatives in bridging the gap between global climate policies and on-the-ground community needs.

Youth at the Center of Climate Solutions

Concluding its participation, VTFHA emphasized that youth are central to the future of climate action, calling for expanded training, empowerment programs, and regional innovation networks to enhance resilience and sustainability.

The initiatives presented at the UN platform reflect a growing global shift toward inclusive, collaborative, and practical solutions that balance development needs with environmental protection for future generations.
