The first open dialogue on climate change at Egypt in 2024

The first open dialogue on climate change was held virtually on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in cooperation with a number of entities, the Belonging and Sustainable Development Initiative, the Open Dialogue Foundation for Climate Change in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the CEGESS Company for Sustainable Development to work together to build cognitive capabilities, as capacity building plays an important role in addressing for climate change.

Open climate change dialogues are an essential part of efforts to combat climate change at the regional and international levels.

These dialogues include discussions and interactions between governments, NGOs, businesses, local communities and individuals with the aim of exchanging ideas, experiences and solutions to address the challenges of climate change in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.

This includes enhancing awareness, developing skills, enhancing green technology infrastructure, supporting innovation in the fields of renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, and enhancing local and international cooperation to exchange knowledge and experiences.

Climate change and carbon footprint represent two major challenges to the whole world. We have to reduce carbon emissions and adopt environmentally friendly technologies to reduce our impact on the climate.

Ecological footprint refers to the biological and environmental impact of an individual, organization, or activity on the environment.8 These impacts include carbon emissions, consumption of natural resources, pollution and loss of biodiversity.

Improving environmental awareness and implementing sustainable practices can reduce the environmental footprint and protect the environment for future generations.

Learn about the carbon footprint and its role in mitigating and reducing climate change.

Carbon footprint refers to the total amount of carbon emissions produced by a specific individual, organization, or activity.

Carbon life refers to the group of living organisms that contain carbon, including plants, animals, and microbes. Reducing the carbon footprint contributes to maintaining the environmental balance and reducing the negative impacts on carbon life on Earth.

This meeting was also a prelude to the celebration of World Environment Day

World Environment Day is a global occasion celebrated on June 5 of each year, and its goal is to raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage joint action to protect it.

This day is used to launch environmental campaigns, organize awareness events and activities and promote sustainable environmental movements globally.

At the end of the meeting, it became clear why the world needs to accelerate achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
